Terinu
Terinu is a Ferin, a race created to serve the Varn Dominion. He is the only member of his kind known to exist, the other ferin having dissappeared along with their masters five hundred years previous. Terinu has the ability to generate living energy called ''bion'', a talent that has brought him much unwanted attention.

 

 

Leeza Blake
An Australian native, born and raised in Anakie, Victoria, Leeza Blake is a civilian engineer under contract to the Galactic Sapiens Alliance military. She is the daughter of Admiral Blake, and cousin to Lance Freeman. She is forthright, moral, and empathic but can be impulsive which isn''t helped by her addiction to coffee.

 

 

Lance Freeman
Lance is a demolitions expert in the GSA military and cousin to Leeza Blake and Gwen Freeman. Lance is a physical kind a guy. He tends to be somewhat serious and does not tolerate fools easily, particularly if they are above him in the chain of command although he is a disciplined soldier and will usually stick by the rules.

 

 

Ru Ofanius ''Rufus'' Brushtail
The son of Vulpine farmer nobility, Rufus is debonaire, outgoing, and a born swashbuckler. Eschewing his family’s money and influence, he volunteered for the Vulpine fighter corps as a flight engineer, and eventually refurbished his own ship to make his way as a mercenary fighter pilot.

 

 

Gwendolyn Freeman
Gwen is a confident, outspoken girl with a firey personality to match Terinu''s. She has a strong moral sense but isn''t beyond bending the rules to get her own way. She has lived all her life on Earth and subsequently has had little experience with people from other races. She is singled out by Cyeman Cadwell as a marketable talent due to her exceptional cyber-gliding potential.

 

 

Yvonne 'Vonnie' Freeman
Wife of Barry and mother to Lance Freeman, Vonnie a heavy set woman in her late forties/early fifties who owns an engineering company specializing in deep space construction projects. Vonnie is very outspoken and practical minded. She will never shy away from a fight.

 

 

Barry Freeman
Barry is husband to Vonnie Freeman, and father to Lance. Barry is a slightly overweight, likable man who is usually content to follow his wife’s orders. This is definitely not due to any weakness of character but rather the extension of his easy going, ''happy to follow'' nature.

 

 

Kevin Freeman
Kevin is Gwendolyn Freeman''s little brother. A typical ten year old with a friendly, outgoing disposition and a wicked talent for tormenting his older sister.

 

 

Admiral Erwin Blake
Erwin Blake is the fleet Admiral serving in the Federation Forces. He is dedicated to protecting the GSA (Gal-Sapien Alliance) from the Varn threat, and is willing to use any means necessary to achieve that goal. His relationship with his daughter Leeza is decidedly rocky.

 

 

Melika Softpaw
A beautiful and elegant vulpine entertainer at Madame Cher’s Cabaret, Melika took charge of Terinu''s care when Mavra first brought him to the Cabaret. The daughter of a minor vulpine farmer noble, Melika obtained work at the cabaret to pay off her late brother’s gambling debts, which had nearly plunged their family’s farm into ruin.

 

 

Ninetta
Ninetta is tall, leggy, and vivacious, in stark contrast to the usual Galen reserve. Together with Melika, she helped raise Terinu during his years at the Cabaret and maintains a sort of big sister fondness for the boy.

 

 

Madame Cher
Madame Cher is the wealthy owner of an interstellar cabaret. A dignified practical woman she was once under the control of Mavra Chan before rebuilding her business outside the Warlord's influence.

 

 

Auntie Alexia
''Auntie'' Alexia is the buxomous creo performer in Madame Cher''s cabaret. A loyal friend to her fellow performers though she tends to be rather loud and boisterous. She developes a ''crush'' on Lance Freeman much to his horror.

 

 

Joleen
Shy, neat, polite little Joleen started her working career as a maid and kitchen hand at Madam Cher''s Cabaret. Sweet natured and dutiful she sometimes suffers from a lack confidence in her own abilities. She has a tendency to loose herself in daydreams.

 

 

Gene Mage
The Gene Mage is a scientist and a high ranking member of the Varn Dominion government. He created Terinu’s race, the Ferin, to serve the dominion as both servants and power sources. He cares greatly for them and is dismayed and puzzled by Terinu''s refusal to obey him.

 

 

Dream Stalker
Dream Stalker is one of the Varn. Whatever good may have existed in her dark heart has been long drowned out by centuries of power and decadent living. Her role in Varn society is that of a psychic interrogator and she loves her job, especially when she can mess with her subjects minds.

 

 

Mavra Chan
Chan is an ambitious, amoral warlord, commanding a small fleet of pirate ships including the Celestial Marauder. She has tendrils on several fringe colonies running protection rackets on them without interference from the GSA government. She discovered Terinu as a very young child in the cargo of one of her rivals captured ships.

 

 

Matthew Townsend
Matt is the cook’s assistant aboard the Celestial Marauder, having been sold to Mavra Chan at age nine by his father to pay for the man’s drinking habit. He became close friends with seven-year old Terinu when the latter was brought aboard by Chan to be trained as a spacer. Matt is good natured, optomistic and dependable.

 

 

Captain Aynish
Aynish is galen captain of Mavra Chan''s flag ship the ''Celestial Marauder''. A quiet, disciplined man who commands the complete obediance of his pirate crew.

 

 

Brooks
Brooks is sadistic first officer of the ''Celestial Marauder'' who took great pleasure in tormenting Terinu when the boy was forced to serve underneigth him.

 

 

Emirette
A handsome young galen man though prone to snide comments and punitive behaviour. Mavra Chan keeps him as a companion and to serve her in a ‘personal’ capacity.

 

 

Princess Titalia
Tall, gaunt Titalia is the eldest daughter of the Ardactavian Hive Queen Ermenzebra. Unbeknownst to her mother she has allied herself to the Varn Gene Mage in her quest to aquire power and return her people, the ardactavians, to the former glory lost to them after the fall of the Dominion.

 

 

Princess Ichichi
Ichichi is the youngest of Queen Ermanzebra''s princess offspring. She manages a segment of ardactavian territory alotted to her by her mother, a task that is proving to be difficult for her. She is haughty and shallow. She is easily enticed by fine fabrics, expensive clothing and sparkling jewelry and keeps a staff of hand maidens to attend to her every need.

 

 

Ambassador Ictis
Ictis is a long suffering ardactavian drone assigned to be ambassador for the Hive. He is the loyal and obedient servant of Princess Titalia and oftens suffers the brunt of her wrath.

 

 

Oryon Gisko
Gisko is the commanding general of the Galapados Warriors and a member of a genetically engineered soldier race created by the Gene Mage. He is an honourable man dedicated to the welfare of his people and completely loyal to the Varn whom he sees as Gods.

 

 

Skorah Gisko
Skorah is Oryon Gisko''s wife. She is courageous and devoted to her husband. She has volunteered to be a test subject in the Gene Mage''s experiments in the hope that she may one day bear a child.

 

 

Nefretti
Nefretti has built a reputation as a small time black market dealer. He borrowed a large amount of credit from Mavra Chan which he is currently, grudgingly, paying back. A devious and small minded, petty individual.

 

 

Cyeman Cadwell
A self employed ''talent scout'' who seeks out individuals with gifted cyber-gliding potential and sells their details, and occassionally the individual themselves, to his customers. He uses his youthful looks and charms to his advantage, particularly when his prey is a young woman.

 

 

Samual Symms
A wealthy dealer in goods and ''services'' who dabbles on both sides of the law in the interests of aquiring the highest profit. Mavra Chan employs him to dispose of her ill gotten gains.

 

 

Professor Saddarth
Professor Saddarth is the head of Xenological research at Bio-Tech’s Luna Station facility. In his single-minded pursuit of knowledge he will often ignore any ethical considerations involved.

 

 

Kenneth Croydon
A brilliant but morally deficiant reseacher working under Saddarth. He has a tendency to annoy women and to try to wriggle out of trouble at the expense of others.

 

 

Binda Mandawauy
Koori (Australian aboriginal) girl who took high honours when she aquired her degree in xenobiological studies. She was snapped up by Bio-Tech and but then had the misfortune to be paired with Kenneth.
